The Last Hours Of The Liberal Age

Sometimes I take leave from my Volkish internet bubble and see what the mainstream liberals and conservatives are chatting about. These two conversations are worth listening to. Notice how lost they are. How foreboding their tone is.

This first video is from some gay conservative type who calls himself Douglas Murray.

“I mean we couldn’t be the first human beings in history who had no explanation for what we should be doing on earth. I mean you can get by with that, with not having an explanation for what to do, so long as the economics are going quite well and as long as basically you’re always getting richer.

And you know every generation is richer than their parents and there were various ways around that. We sort of coped with that for a while such as ‘it’s true it might be harder for this generation to get on the housing ladder than their parents but they’ve got iPhones.’ Some of that might do it, some of it clearly doesn’t, but this thing about meaning, about what are we actually doing is different. You can have the distractions and you can enjoy yourself. God knows I’m not being a Puritan about this, but that’s probably not enough and so anything that has an appeal to meaning has a good chance now.”

Do you see how its all over for them? The Chapo freaks had no answer for him. They couldn’t even manage to laugh. These people are truly nearing their wits end. No belief. No vision for the future. In the the last hours of the age, they are now simply managing their own decline.
