White population decline is old news, but did you know that the total world population is projected to start declining later this century?

It was news to me. The story has always been that the teeming colored masses won’t stop growing, that they are on the up and up and we Westerners just need to get used to that and make room. But it turns out they stopped replacing themselves a decade ago. And now they have as few kids as we do. It’s possible there just won’t be enough people to continually flood Western countries forever, like the Jews wanted.

This interview is a good overview of the problem:

A ‘world without the young’ is going to be a larger piece of the dystopian mix this century than previously thought. We are already getting glimpses of what a such senile society will look and feel like. In rural Japan, the loneliness is so extreme that they put mannequins up at bus stops and restaurants to make the small towns seem less dead. Humanity at large will begin to feel old. The geriatric peace, the peace of death.

The 2030’s and 2040’s will be like living in the aftermath of a war. Lots of old people. And a conspicuous absence of young people. Not because they died, but because they were never born.
