I often go on bitter nights

to Wodan’s Oak on a quiet glade

With dark powers to weave a union –

The moonlight showing me the runic spell

And all who are full of impudence during the day

Are made small by the magic formula!

They draw shining steel – but instead of going into combat,

They solidify into stalagmites.

Thus the wrong ones separate from the genuine ones –

I reach into the nest of words

Then give to the good and fair

With my formula blessings and prosperity

Adolf Hitler, Somewhere on The Front, 1915

As we discussed during Manifest Destiny Ep. 32 (an insightful episode, especially the commentary of the other cast members), National Socialist Germany had a schizophrenic attitude regarding the “Christian Question”, especially during the pre war years. Was Adolf Hitler a Christian? Did the Fuhrer reject paganism? One only has to read the above poem penned by a young Adolf Hitler during a brief respite from the maelstrom of combat or gleam insight from what little remains of his correspondence and conversations during the later years when politics were no longer of importance to find out.

The attitude early National Socialism had towards Christianity infects us to this day. Fortunately, we have the luxury of being above politics. We reject Christianity and the Demon Yahweh outright. We have no need to court the Pastors, Priests, or masses. We embrace The Calling of the Blood. We recognize the faith of our folk and look forward to the future synthesis of faith, state, and culture. (See The Five Points of Volkish).

  1. Good food for thought here – thanks! I think once I ran across another poem that AH wrote for his mother. His few belle lettres are hard to find.
